Alfalfa is harvested
for 4 years, then rotated with other crops for 2 years.
We get about 8 cuttings per year, including greenchop cuttings.
We make "retail bales" which are 3-poly twine and average 95#.
With 18 barns holding an average of 450 tons each, much of our
hay is put up for Winter sales, although hay is sold year round
as well.
